The Initial Problem

Before the content writing intervention:

  • Website pages (home, services, about) had minimal text — mostly images with few service descriptions (≈ 150–200 words per page).

  • No blog section; hence, zero regular content updates. Exceptionally low organic traffic — about 600 organic visitors/month.

  • Existing website copy was generic and unpersuasive — service pages did not explain benefits very clearly (e.g., “interior cleaning” had no description of what that means or why it matters).

  • Social media captions were repetitive and sales-oriented (“Book Now!”) with nearly zero engagement or shareability.

  • FAQs section missing or minimal; potential customers had unanswered common questions like “What types of wax do you use?”, “How long does detailing take?”, “Is interior cleaning safe for all fabrics?”.

  • Low trust signals — few testimonials, no email newsletter content to follow up with past customers.

These problems resulted in low conversion rates: Clicks → Bookings conversion on website was only 1.2%, with many visitors leaving without booking. Also, poor SEO because there were almost no keyword-optimized content pieces targeting local “car wash Dhaka” or “interior detailing services”.

The Challenges

Some of the challenges we faced while building content for IQ Car Wash:

  1. Understanding Technical Details: Interior detailing, waxing, types of cleaning — we needed to translate technical details into language laypersons understand.

  2. SEO Keyword Competition Locally: Terms like “car detailing Dhaka”, “best car wash” are highly competitive; ranking required not only good content but also consistent publishing and strong on-page optimization.

  3. Creating High-Quality Photos & Descriptions: Some services had no good visuals; had to coordinate with IQ Car Wash to get high-resolution pictures or use mockups.

  4. Maintaining Brand Voice + Trust: Needed to be friendly but professional, informative but concise — balancing persuasion without making overpromises.

  5. Content Volume & Consistency: Blogging, social media, and newsletter content needed regular cadence (weekly blog posts, daily social captions, biweekly newsletters) to build momentum.

  6. Local SEO Optimization: Content had to speak to Dhaka and nearby areas, using local phrases, neighborhoods, etc., to attract local clients.

The Results

After implementing the content strategy over 5 months, IQ Car Wash saw strong improvements across nearly every key metric:

  • Organic Traffic: from ~600 visitors/month → ~3,400 visitors/month by month 5 (+467% growth)

  • Bookings via Website: conversion rate improved from 1.2% → 5.5%, leading to ~ 90 booked services/month vs ~15 before (+500%)

  • Time on Page: pages with service descriptions and blog posts saw user time increase from ~45 seconds → ~2 minutes 10 seconds

  • Blog Performance: Published 12 blog posts; top 3 blog posts brought in ~1,200 visitors/month combined; high intent posts like “Interior detailing cost Dhaka” performed best.

  • Social Media Engagement: Posts using storytelling & tips (before/after photos, maintenance tips) reached ~1200–1800 engagements per post vs previous ~100–200.

  • Email Newsletter Open Rate: New newsletters designed with helpful content (car care tips, seasonal specials) saw open rates of ~28–32% and click-through rates ~5–7%, compared to previous ad hoc email sends with <15% open rate.
